City Hall Randersacker (2014): H20 (Water)

Water is the chemical compound made up of the elements Oxygen (O) and Hydrogen (H) and is our elixir of life. My photos on this topic show how important adequate care is for all of us. The pictures were taken during my travels in Sri Lanka, Myanmar, USA

Without water, for example, the fish no longer gets any “air” and suffocates. People today use 45 times as much water as they did 300 years ago. According to estimates by the World Health Organization, around 1.1 billion people worldwide do not have a reliable supply of clean water. Around 25 million people die each year from water pollution, mostly in developing countries.

It is therefore all the more important to draw attention to this resource. In my opinion, it fits well as a theme for an exhibition. There is an international water day, which is organized by the UN and is celebrated annually on March 22nd. This also points out the vital importance of this resource.
